Your chances of suffering heart disease in particular are considerably reduced if your diet helps reduce the amount of LDL cholesterol while maintaining adequate levels of HDL cholesterol.

If you are trying to lose weight, following a healthy weight loss program will involve eating a healthy balanced diet which will supply your body with all the essential nutrients. Healthy weight loss typically involves eating from all major food groups, but reducing the amount you eat so you consume slightly less calories than your body requires. Moderate exercise and a healthy diet are the keys to healthy weight loss.

If you live a busy and stressful lifestyle your immune system can suffer, especially if your energy levels are too low. One of the major benefits of healthy eating is energy levels are maintained for longer periods. This is because complex carbohydrates take time to digest and the energy from these healthy foods are released slowly thus maintaining your energy levels for longer.

Another benefit of healthy eating is you can recover from illness much quicker. Everybody suffers from illness from time to time, but if you were eating a healthy diet before falling ill and were not already suffering from diseases related to eating a poor diet, your immune system has less to deal with and is better able to combat the illness.
